The Journey of Impress.ai

Jun 10, 2019

Recruitment has always been a pain point for candidates and recruiters alike. Long application process, random screening and assessment, long wait times, candidate dropouts, and complicated interview schedules made filling vacancies a tedious process. There is a dire need to re-imagine the recruitment process and bring in more flexible methods of hiring. Technologies such as AI can free the hiring manager from administrative tasks and help them evolve the human aspects of their role.

“Using virtual recruitment chatbots is one way to overcome the main problem in recruiting funnel, which is the high rate of good candidates dropping out in the early stages. Impress.ai uses deep learning algorithms to make sense of an applicant’s answers and respond in an accurate, realistic way.” - Sudhanshu Ahuja, CEO and Co-Founder of Impress.ai

Introducing Impress.ai. Launched in January 2017, Impress.ai presents a revolutionary solution that assists recruiters at every stage of the talent acquisition process - from screening, interviewing, and shortlisting candidates at scale. Founded by Sudhanshu Ahuja (CEO and Co-Founder), Dr. Vaisagh Viswanathan (CTO & Co-Founder), and Dr. Amrith Dhananjayan (COO & Co-founder), the AI powered recruiting solution helps companies find the right candidate faster, incorporating chatbots that autonomously interview and shortlist candidates, making the ardous process efficient and less taxing.

Based in Singapore, Impress.ai closed a seed-funding round for US$1.2 million in late 2018. The funding, led by Reapra, will be used for market expansion, product enhancements, and to create Mandarin and Japanese-speaking chatbots.

With a future proof business model, Impress.ai is already working with some of the biggest enterprises in the region, with big names such as Accenture, DBS Bank and Singtel gracing their porfolio. Impress. ai helped DBS launch JIM – a virtual recruiter, that enables the hiring of wealth planning managers by 40%, in turn saving 40 man-hours per month.
